UNCSA has added 27 new faculty members for the 2026-27 school year, including nine full-time and 18 adjunct and visiting faculty. Seven faculty members are alumni. Appointments have been made across the schools of Dance, Design and Production, Drama, Filmmaking and Music, as well as in the Division of Liberal Arts and the High School Program, Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Patrick J. Sims has announced.

The School of Filmmaking at UNCSA, a/perture cinema, and RiverRun International Film Festival have partnered to launch Scene & Heard, a new annual film series that will bring filmmakers and other creative voices to Winston-Salem each fall for screenings and public conversations.

The Thomas S. Kenan Institute for the Arts (Kenan Arts) and UNCSA will bring together artists, technologists, and thought leaders in the arts to examine the ethical, legal, technical and creative issues surrounding new technologies in the arts, including AI, for an Arts and Emerging Technology Residency on Saturday, Aug. 29 at UNCSA. The residency, open to the public as well as UNCSA students, faculty and staff, will offer an artist-centered opportunity to engage in dialogue around the myriad issues surrounding one of the most important conversations in the arts today.
